TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
FRIDAY 30th JULY OPEN NIGHT! 10, 20, 30 ENTRY 'SIT AND GO'S'...30 POINT VEGAS SATELLITES, RING TABLE OPEN FROM 7PM....ALL WELCOME.

FINALS NIGHT A GREAT SUCCESS!!!! An impressive 30 players turned up to our end of league finals night. Very early on in the tournament, School showed everyone how his day was going to go. With the blinds still only at 100/200, Lummy and School make a 150k pot. Lummy shows AA and School shows KK. A king on the flop gives School the pot and a massive chip lead. A little later, School calls an 'all-in' with QQ against 2 pair, and of course rivers a queen..lol Spencer was unlucky, when his pocket 8's went up against Cookies AQh on a K82 of hearts flop. The board didn't pair, so Cookie wins. The final table consisted of 8 players, Pete Franklin ended the tournament in 9th and the bubble position to a white chip for next Friday, and a seat at the next Vegas satty. JJ was very unluck against School when he flopped trip 2's against pocket Q's, and yet again, School rivered a queen. Tinker, Marge and Mack were 7th, 6th and 5th respectively. 4th was AJ, and with another good performance, Traci ended the tournament 3rd place. This just left Cookie and School heads up. Cookie bets out with pocket 9's, and School goes 'all-in', Cookie calls reluctantly and takes the hand down and doubles up. After a few hands backward and forward, all the chips go in again. Cookie shows AA and School shows 99.....a 9 on the flop!!! lol How many more times I hear you cry!!! Well as it happens, that was the last one. With Cookie still having the chip lead, he calls Schools all-in with K7 on a 7 high with 2 hearts flop, School shows 86h and for once, doesn't hit and Cookie takes it down. Another great tournament, thank you and well done to everyone who attended. NEWS.... SHAD HEADS UP- POCCER'S CLINTON ORCHARD PRESENTING THE MEDAL- THE BOYS CELEBRATING! 'The Pot' travelled to Birmingham this weekend to play in the 'POCCER' event 2. With the usual pre-tourney complications, we were still trying to finalise our team at 9am saturday morning! The tournament consists of a 5-a-side football comp in the morning, with teams competing for points, which in turn, earn their starting chipstacks for the evening poker tournament. With 7 teams attending, we had managed to run away with the football before we needed to play our last league game. With our chief cheerleader DR Davey 2 chins (aka Srijit) supporting from the side, Carlos, Shad, Donno, RV, Freddie 'ill fight anyone' De'ath, Cookie and Spratty managed to ease 'THE POT' to the chip lead. After a quick power snooze (for cookie), and a couple of liquid refreshments, we headed for the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall to start the poker tournament. As ever, Carlos, Cookie, Spratty, Dr 2 chins, Donno and Shad took charge at their respective tables and put their chip lead to good use. With players dropping like flies, we managed to keep all our boys in good stead til we'd locked the team poker win down to just us and 1 other team. Bullen's bullets, headed by 'turncoat ginger judas' Martin James...formerly of THE POT, were our only opponents come the final table. As we got down to 6 players, and once Freddie had scared off most of the other opposition with his shirt, it became apparent that a deal was in the offering. So we ended up splitting the team prize of £1000 and playing it out to decide the individual winner. Shad soon took charge of the remaining players and after half hour had just about sorted it all out. He took the individual win, and Donno and he tied for the 'head hunter' award...knocking more players out of the comp than anyone else(for an extra £50).
