TINKER PIPS SPENCER TO THE TITLE bob 'tinker' taylor wins an epic battle to take the monday freeze out league title on the last day of the season. with spencer leading, shad a close second and marge just behind...it was going to be a lot to ask for bob to take the top spot. as the tourney gained pace, it worked out that for bob to win, he needed spencer and shad to miss the final table....and he needed to beat marge by at least 3 points also. spencer has made all 11 final tables this season and shad was not far behind, so this was a big ask! with 3 full tables, spencer and bob were on table 1, with marge and shad on table 2. shad took and early hit and lost a lot of chips with a big hand, spencer was just floating around building his stack slowly. bob was finding it hard to keep his chips and marge was picking them up for fun! shad was first of the big boys to go when his KK was outflopped by stephan's KQ diamonds. spencer was next to go when his shove at a flush draw was called by cookies KQ which had already hit. as we got down to the final table marge was still massive chip leader and bobs finger nails were aching where hed been clinging on for the last hour! the action was fairly rapid and after a few races were won and moves were called, we whittled it down to 5 left. the turning point in bob's night was a 3 way all in with cookie and marge... marge , whod lost a couple of races, pushes all in for around 100k on the button. bob moves all in with his remaining 42k form the small blind and after a short deliberation and a chip count, cookie calls the all ins from the big blind. marge shows AQ, bob shows 10-10 and cookie shows AK. after nobody improved, bob trebles up and cookie takes marge out on the bubble. traci went out in 4th and showed good consistency making the money again. leaving cookie, bob and simon elliot to battle it out 3 handed. after much thievery and a few bare shoves...simon was leading, with bob 2nd and cookie getting short. cookie moved all in on the button and was eventually called by bob in the big blind. bob's A10 dominating cookies A8 and sending him out in 3rd place. with the extra 3 points for the bounty on cookies head this now meant that bob had fought his way to the title, even if he lost heads up. but in true character, he made a good play with 2nd pair and took the win and maximum points anyway. to the cries of 'GET IN THERE' and a bit of table banging.....tinker wins the league! WHAT A FINAL EVENT! and what a succesful season in general....well done and thanks to all involved.
